Based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, I work as a freelance infographic designer and illustrator, creating visual content for museums, editorial teams, and cultural organizations. I’m available for commissions and actively seeking agent representation.

In 2002, I collaborated with publisher Matthias Maasberg to illustrate the board game Valavendur, creating two distinct board designs, just because I wanted to offer a strong alternative. While the final version aligned more closely with the project’s needs, this alternate design—meticulously crafted to evoke the aesthetic of a medieval parchment map—was tucked away, unseen for years… until now.

Why Share It Today?
Some creations demand resurrection. This board reflects a moment in my artistic journey where historical inspiration met imaginative play—a combination I still cherish.

Today I probably wouldn’t reuse this technique—I first sculpted with zbrush some elements in 3D, and redraw it in 2D. But I’m glad to finally give it a home here.

The project also involved sculpting 3D miniatures, though that’s a tale for another article.
